Our Educational Promise

By the age of seven, every child at Hadrian Park will be a confident reader, unlocking the doors to the wider curriculum and beyond. If any child faces barriers to this, we are committed to doing whatever it takes to help them catch up—because every child deserves the key to success.

Our mission is simple: to create ambitious, confident, and capable learners who are ready to shape their futures and make a difference in the world.

Implementation of Our Curriculum

Empowering Learning, Inspiring Excellence, Unlocking Potential

At Hadrian Park Primary, our curriculum is not just a framework—it is a journey of discovery designed to ignite curiosity, build deep understanding, and empower every child to thrive. We recognise that the needs of our pupils are ever-changing, and so we embrace an adaptive, innovative, and forward-thinking approach to curriculum implementation.

We carefully construct learning experiences that are sequential, cumulative, and logically structured, ensuring that every child moves through small, meaningful steps of learning that build confidence and knowledge over time. First-hand experiences and experiential learning are at the heart of our teaching, bringing learning to life and making it purposeful and engaging.

How We Bring Learning to Life

Our curriculum is:

  • Delivered with Excellence: Teaching is designed to ensure high-quality sequencing, clarity, and logical progression, allowing pupils to build strong foundations in every subject.
  • Anchored in Key Concepts: We meticulously map substantive and disciplinary knowledge, ensuring children grasp the core principles that underpin their learning.
  • Focused on What Matters: We identify and reinforce “sticky knowledge”—the most important learning that will remain with pupils beyond the classroom.
  • Vocabulary-Rich: We highlight and embed key disciplinary and knowledge-based vocabulary, giving pupils the language they need to articulate their understanding with confidence.
  • Cognitively Manageable: Learning is delivered with a clear and structured cognitive load, ensuring children are not overwhelmed but instead, can absorb, process, and apply knowledge effectively.
  • Designed for Retention: We help children remember more by adopting a “less is more” approach, prioritising essential learning as a starting point and then building upon it.
  • Built on Repetition and Recall: Through retrieval practice, recapping, revisiting, and revising, we embed knowledge deeply, ensuring children can confidently apply their learning in a range of contexts.
  • Informed by Assessment: Our approach is continually refined through ongoing and formative assessments, ensuring every child receives the right level of challenge and support.

Creating Success through Quality Teaching

At Hadrian Park, every child is entitled to a feeling of success. We ensure this by:

  • Personalising Learning: Adapting our teaching to meet each child’s unique starting point, ensuring all learners—including the most gifted, those with SEND, and disadvantaged pupils—are fully supported.
  • Promoting Higher-Order Thinking: Encouraging children to think critically, question deeply, and develop a richer, more meaningful understanding of the world around them.
  • Upholding High Standards: Our commitment to consistently high expectations ensures that every child is supported to reach and exceed National Expectations.
  • Ensuring PACE of Learning: Teaching is structured to provide the right level of challenge, acceleration, and depth, ensuring that pupils move forward confidently in their learning journey.
  • Embedding Daily Assessment: We use responsive teaching strategies to monitor progress, identify gaps, and tailor instruction, ensuring that learning is impactful, meaningful, and effective.

Our curriculum implementation is driven by our belief that every child can succeed when given the right opportunities, experiences, and encouragement. We don’t just teach—we inspire, motivate, and unlock potential so that every child leaves Hadrian Park equipped with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to shape their future.
