GDPR – General Data Protection Regulation

After four years of preparation and debate the GDPR was finally approved by the EU Parliament on 14th April 2016. Enforcement date: 25th May 2018 – at which time those organizations in non-compliance may face heavy fines.

The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) replaces the Data Protection Directive 95/46/EC and was designed to harmonize data privacy laws across Europe, to protect and empower all EU citizens data privacy and to reshape the way organizations across the region approach data privacy.

To support our commitment to data protection and privacy, the school buys into a professional Data Protection service provided by VERITAU. VERITAU act as our Data Protection Officer (DPO) and provide expert advice and guidance to ensure that personal data is handled lawfully, securely and in line with UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).

They support the school in monitoring compliance, advising on data protection responsibilities, and offering guidance should any data protection concerns arise.
